How to repair a stanadyne shower faucet
We are having difficulty removing the chrome sleeve. It doesn't seem to just pull off. Could it just be heavily caroded on?

I think he is talking about the sleeve on a tub/shower valve, Tom (see image). Here, as you know stanadyne went over to moen so their valves are almost identical.

Jsgartner44, you should just need to get a pair of pliers and tug on the sleeve... twist a little, too. These things can be a bear, for sure, but they will usually come off in one piece. If that fails to work go to home depot and look for a moen replacement sleeve (see other image)... then you can just crush this old sleeve off and replace it with the new one... ;)
