How often do you have to check in with your probation officer
My husband was sentenced to five years probabtion. I've never been through this before so I'm cluless. I know the first year is interim probation does anyone know how often you have to go check in with your PO and if you have to pay out of pocket for the manditory drug test. Niether of us do drugs of any kind so I'm not worried about him passing it I'm worried about how much it's going to cost me when they do it.

In my experience the visits are monthly (but I have seen every two weeks) and yes, the drug tests out of pocket are part of probation. If a person cannot or will not pay, then probation is not an option. I don't know how often he'll be tested - a lot depends on the arrest, what it was for, what degree.

If neither one of you does drugs why is he being required to do drug testing?
