Is a electric breaker tripped, Is there pressure in the tank, is the well running ?
Is there water at the well,

What have you checked so for

Breaker didn't trip. Well pump pressure @ 16 psi. In process of poking around the water system a little more for more information.

At 16, is the pump still running trying to build pressure or is it shutting off.

The psi isn't changing. I turned on the kitchen faucet for the second time this morning and water came out steady for a few seconds then trickled and stopped. I'm not sure if that's an indicator of the system trying to build pressure or not.

Remove cover on pressure control switch and see if contacts are closed. If contacts are closed then pump should be running.

Hold the pipe coming from well. Do u feel a vibration? If u do is the pressure increasing?

If u feel vibration and pressure is not increasing, I would shut off pump so it does not burn out.

This would be a sign that your water table is below the pump and may need time to replenish the well. How deep is well?

Not sure how deep the well is. Just bought the house.

I removed the switch cover and found that I have a Pressure Control Switch Bypass Lever. It was in the off (horizontal) position. As I turned it on (vertical) the contacts touched but when I got to the full vertical position they separated again. Possibly need a new pressure control switch or whole pump assembly? Any thoughts? Thank you for the guidance.

No vibration. No pressure increasing. If I hold bypass lever up and contacts touch, pump still doesn't come on. Definitely have power to switch. Not sure about much else.

If the control box is sending power to the pump it could be a open wire or something open in the pump. The pump will have to be pulled and checked out, Good luck, Tom

Estimated cost for submersible well pump? I was quoted $3100 for a 150 ft well.
Is this a reasonable quote. This is just to replace the wires and pump.
