    How often should it kick on
    My pump is kicking on every two minutes for about 30 seconds.. . Help is this normal ?

    Assuming that you are not using water when this hsppens, then it is not normal. You have a leak somewhere, probably a leaking checkvalve or footvalve. A few questions:

    1. Is your pump in the well or above ground?
    2. Do you have a cutoff valve to the house? If so, if you close the cutoff valve, does the problem continue?
    3. What kind of pipe is your wellpipe, plastic or galvanized?
    4. How old is the system?

    For the time being, I'd shut the pump off at the breaker unless I need water for short periods. This short cycling can be really tough on a pump.

    I'm interested in question #2. When you close the house shut off does the pressure gage drop to zero? Let me know, Tom
