Commode leaking at top of tank when flushed
I don't see any other ones with this problem. We recently went on vacation and while we were gone the main water line burst. It was fixed before I got home to check it but when I flushed both commodes they sounded loud like a lot of air was in the line but then I noticed it would also overflow the water out of the top of tank every time it was flushed. I opened the tank and saw water was not too full so I flushed with top off and WOAH BIG MISTAKE! A black tube jumped up and hosed the whole bathroom in water! Both toilets have the same problem. Could someone tell me what is loose and what I need to do to fix it. HELP.

Air bursts must have disconnected the fill tubes. Those tubes should be connected to the inside of the center fill tube, usually by a small metal clip. On some systems, Mansfield for example, they are pushed down into the crnnter lift body.

    Hello Ionajag,

ma0641 nailed it the fill tube may be disconnected, am not sure what fill valve do you have see the image below lift the tank lid and see if the tube is connected to the over flow tube if not connected and check it, if tube is connected flush the toilet with lid remove and see where the water is coming from and let us know, good luck.

You just blew a FluidMaster right out of the toilet tank. CONGRATULATIONS! In all our years and from the thousands of complaints you're the first to come up with this one.
Try reinstalling the ballcock but if it doesn't feel right replace it, Good luck. Tom
