If a mother who left 2yr oldchild home alone, went & was on drugs& drinking gets into an accident, now receiving SSI & welfare, do to the accident she caused & doesn't have to pay child support. She has been in & out of jail on house arrest has no license until 2014. I have been taking care of my son for the past 7 yrs without any help from her and things are getting more expensive and harder isn't there anyway I can get help?

Let me see if I've got this right - mother left 2-year old home alone, was drinking and driving, got into an accident.

"Now" she's receiving SSI and Welfare (due to the accident), both of which cannot be "tapped" for child support.

She has no driver's license (how is this related?).

You have had custody of your son for 7 years - so this happened 9 years ago - and you are looking for child support or other assistance?

Have you looked into food stamps and similar benefits?
