Can my ex legally sign over gurdianship of our child to the maternal grandmother?
My ex recently moved back to North Carolina on Sept 3rd from living in Florida since 2009. I have since discovered that she has left our 17yr old daughter in Florida with her maternal grandmother. She did this behind my back and says that she signed guardianship papers over to the grandmother. My ex only has residential custody but we have joint legal custody, I never signed any paperwork agreeing to this arrangement. Is this legal? Can I legally go to Florida and pick my child up? Does it qualify as child abandonment?
