Went searching for a certain word among a document that has a lot of text.
I know crtl F works okay. But what about online. What command would you use then. I have windows xp.

It depends on the browser but Ctrl-F works for both Firefox and IE too, I suspect for Chrome as well.
Did not work on Chrome. Will try others
Find (Ctrl + F) DOES work in Chrome, but the search box is very subtle.
Look in the top right, rather than at the bottom like IE and FF.
Don't use Windows + F, use Ctrl + F while in a browser.
All depends on what sort of document you have open in the browser, whether it is indeed searchable..
I wonder if it was an inline PDF.
Ctrl +F still brings up a search box, although it's within the pdf reader rather than browser..
Can you give us an address as an example..
