I stopped taking birth control in January 2012. My husband came home from deployment in February and we started trying to get pregnant. I have had a normal period on the first of every month until September. It is 19 days into the month still with no period, I started a brownish discharge 2 days ago but its so faint, not nearly what I would consider a period to be. I have taken mulitple pregnancy tests and all come back negative. I took my last home pregnancy test the same day I started the spotting, I am emotional, exhausted all of the time, bloated, no breast tenderness, my back aches, could I be pregnant?

It's quite possible that you could be - but how many negative results have you gotten? Have you had a chance to go talk to your gynecologist about this yet? The spotting is perfectly normal whether you're pregnant or not pregnant. Periods can be very finnicky and become irregular if you're going through life changes such as a job change, weight loss, kids starting school. Do you feel stressed about the time it's taken to try and get pregnant?

It's likely also that your period is just plain ol' late. That's happened to me a few times. When I got pregnant I had the same symptoms but definitely couldn't tell I was pregnant until I realized that I hadn't had my period in 6 weeks (yeah, that was a fun day).

But, you see how these are all "potential" situations? It could be a number of things, so your best bet is to talk to the gyno. I did my stint in the Marine Corps and I was lucky enough to be on a Navy base where the gyno I went to was awesome, so I hope the bureaucracy of military medicine doesn't make you nuts!
