My ex is trying for contact with my son.. his toxicology results were EtG 110pg/mg and his Faee's were 2.08 ng/mg.
He openly admits to drinking at least 12/15 units a night and a lot more at the weekend, the court has suggested that if he just abstains for 24 hours before a contact visit that he will be sober enough to take my son out in a car.
I am disputing this as I think it would take longer.
Please can you advise.

You're both right.

If he hasn't been drinking for 24 hours he is probably technically sober.

On the other hand, if his drinking problem is that bad, I wouldn't trust him to remain sober until he is done driving.

That's the real problem as I see it.
