occasionally, the pump will stop working & flood the basement. It has happened 4x's, it blows the fuse box, I've reset the button on the pump, however it keeps happening. Do I need a new motor?

Is there anything else, like a washer, Draining into the pit? Back to you, tom

You could have a clog in the impeller that is binding the motor. Have you pulled the pump? Messy smelly job but you will need to do it if you replace the pump.
