    Hipaa violations in the pharmacy
When I went to get a refill for my prescription, the pharmacy tech had to call my doctors office for authorization, they had a conversation to where the pharmacy tech looked at me, slapped her wrist, then looked at me... what were they saying and what is it that my business is being told to the phar tech about me? Is that appropriate for whoever was talking to the tech... and is my issue with my dr's office?

    Privacy
Along with my other question, is it appropriate for my health care provider to discuss with ANYONE my personal business? What and when I go to see my doctor should not be told to a pharmacy tech. I believe this is a total violation of my privacy. A pharmacy tech does not need to know these things about me, way too much info!!

Since you have no idea what was said, how do you even know they were talking about you other than confirming the prescription?
