Original custody and child support was ordered in Okla.
Mother and child moved to VA. Father paid child support for 5 years and then moved to VA to be closer to child. Mother verbally agreed to joint custody and no child support at that time. Father kept child the majority of the time and no one paid support. After approx. 3 years mother decided she wanted 7,000 for back child support (for the past 3 years) and sued father for this amount in VA. Jurisdiction was changed to VA, Joint Legal and physical custody was awarded to father and mother agreed to drop suit for past child support. No new child support was ordered. Now, 2 years later mother is suing for Sole custody and stating as show cause, that father owes 10,000 in back child support. There is no order in VA for child support. The only child support order is the original one from OK.

First, a verbal agreement on support is dangerous. Many courts consider anything paid without a court order to be gifts.

However, you stated that jurisdiction was moved to VA and VA awarded joint custody without any support. That would seem to preculde any claim for back support.
