I recently had the mirena 5 year iud I had it taken out in July and got my period on the same day and lasted for 6 days the next month I started my period a day late then the month before and it only lasted 4 days this month I was 9 days late on my period and I have pregnancy symptoms but all my pregnancy test were negative I just started bleeding today could this be my period coming or something else me and my fiancé have been trying to get pregnant since I had it removed we have sex 3 times a day every day can someone please help me I'm confused and need answers

It will take a while for your body to fully recover from the lingering effects of the birth control.

1. It isn't meaningful to say a period is a day late or even several days late. Most women never have regular cycles, including how many days you bleed.
2. You have to have more patience about getting pregnant.
3. Symptoms of getting your period and being pregnant are similar, and you can't draw conclusions.
4. Having sex 3 times a day is just overdoing it (although there's nothing wrong with it). Sex around the middle of your cycle is all you need. He needs to keep his testicles cool and not wear tight pants. There are many things that can affect sperm motility. If you aren't pregnant after a year, get him tested.

Hi, although you were asking for an Ob/Gyn to answer your question, I have to agree with Curlyben. Any type of hormonalbirth control takes time to get out of your system. For that reason I went with the traditional non hormonal copper IUD. I didn't want any more hormones in my body than absolutely possible, and while I understand you are a little excited about the prospects of possibly being pregnant, I just don't want you to keep your hopes high about the pregnancy tests being wrong. It sounds like you have taken more than one and through experience alone, the first test is probably right. If the second produces the same effect, then I would more than likely say that the tests were right. Its not such a bad thing though, you guys can continue 'practicing' until it actually happens. Adding to your answer. I totally agree that having sex that many time isn't necessary. In fact to my understanding it may very well be counterproductive. I read somewhere that having sex a lot of times to try and get pregnant, weakens the sperm and weak sperm has a harder time swimming to where they need to go. As stated, the best time to achieve your goal is right around your ovulation. I know of women who help the sperm along by staying as still as they could; tilting their pelvis upwards by strategically putting pillows underneath them and most of all, relaxing. Breathe through it all to help center yourself and keep calm.
