    3. 84 g of water at 22oC are mixed with 150 g of ethanol at 88oC.
84 g of water at 22 oC are mixed with 150 g of ethanol (C=2.44 J/g.oC) at 88 oC. Find the final temperature of the system.

    Help asap... thanks

Heat gained by water = Heat lost by ethanol

    Formula for each gain/loss: Q = mcT

    Q is amount of heat,
    m is mass of substance,
c is the specific heat capacity
T is the change in temperature. (Final temp. - Initial temp.)

    What do you get?

The right answer is 55.7 oC but I don't know how it was solved.

if u plug in the values in your equation, it wouldn't give this final answer, could you show me the solution?

Could you show how you plugged the values in the equation?
