My grandfather was from Ghana, and to my understanding he was a doctor, or that's what my nan says. His name was Kojo Thompson. I just want to know some general info about him. He passed away in or around 20yo.

Did he always live in Ghana?

Do you know a more specific area ? Are there any current family members there ?

I have a friend from Ghana. I can ask him about the areas. He doesn't live in Ghana, but his mother did.
