    P+HNO3+H2O = NO+H3PO4 :confused:

    You want to balance it? Well the first thing is to change that equals sign into an arrow. The two sides obviously aren't equal, they're very different.

    Looks like 3P + 5HNO3 + 2H2O -> 3H3PO4 + 5NO will do it.
