My ex girlfriend and I bought a car together. I am the cosigner and the registered owner. I have had to make two payments on it recently because she fell behind. We are no longer together. The car still has about $15,000 equity in it and the loan is almost paid off, maybe $2000 still owed on it. She has the car in her possession but we both have keys to the car. What can I legally do.

It's registered and titled in your name - tell her you want it, in my neighborhood you tell the Police you are going to get it and you go and get it.

She then sues you for all the money she put in a car which you now own/drive. A Judge will decide on a fair amount because she did have use of the car for a period.
