My hot water is leaking.. I remove the top screw on the handle; the handle won`t come off.. should I try and pry it off or is there another screw somewhere that I don`t know about? This is a two handle-one spout faucet.

No that is generally all that is reqired you may want to spray some WD-40 or equvelant in there first as not to damage anything as I assume you want to continue to use after replacing washer and by the way WD-40 is non-toxic, water based and silicone free so will clear with hot water afterwards

Howdy gussfuss,
If this is a cheap 11 buck faucet, just replace the whole thing and it will last just a long as the last one did. More quick and easier. Nm

Now that you have the knob off, you may find it has a cartridge rather than a washer. Make sure the seat is in good shape. If it is shot, you may have to replace it, or be forced to replace the faucet. Take the cartridge to a good hardware store and let them help you select the correct replacement. Make sure you get a hot one, or it will turn the wrong way.

If you ever run into this again they make a tool called a handle puller,(see image) for just such situations. It works like a wheel puller and can be located at most plumbing supply houses. Good luck, Tom

Pry it up make sure the water is off going to this faucet,you can also put in shut off valves on these and all your lines so you don't have to turn off the Maine water supply every time you work on a water line, or call a plumber

Unscrew the nut under the handle that you removed and then unscew the inside cartridge assembly. Reinstall the opposite way of removale.

I want to stand with tom on this. I think the other posts are going to interfere with the facilitation of your repair.
