    General practitioner or Family practitioner?
I am planning to do a general check up for me .I want to do a blood test, urine test and all tests they do on a yearly basis.I have never done a blood test so far.I am 27.I went to a gynec for my reproductive health check up.To which doctor should I go for a general check up - a general practitioner or a family practitioner? What is the difference? What are the tests they do?

A general practitioner and family practitioner are one in the same. They both treat acute and chronic illnesses, provides preventive care and health education for all ages and both sexes. An in depth discussion regarding your family history and your lifestyle will give them a better insight into what types of tests you need. Either doctor can easily refer you to a diagnostic testing facility for any number of tests. Blood and urine samples are normally obtained from the doctor and forwarded to a lab for testing specified by the doctor. I hope this helps.
