Drip edge vs roll over roofing
A roofer is giving me an estimate and says he does not install drip edge but does a roll over. He guarantees his work for 10 years, and the Heritage shingles have a 30 yr warranty. He has been in business for a long time and work looks good but everything I read says to install a drip edge and I can't find anything on doing it with a roll over instead. Has anyone heard of this or have any information on this way of installing a roof?

Most houses do not use drip edge. On the sides, the roof protrudes about 3/4" and for the gutter sides, roll over into the gutter by about 1-2". You need to have 5-6" gutters for roll over. 3" gutters will get overshot by the water during heavy rains.
