My son is 18 and on probation for a possession charge. He got a dui the other day. What can we expect when he goes to court?

One of several things - his probation could be revoked. He could be sentenced to jail on the new charge PLUS the violation.

He was given a second chance on the possession charge and, unfortunately, didn't abide by the rules.

My feeling - jail time.

That he goes to jail... because his probation will be revoked, and likely serve time for that crime... and then he's got a good likelihood of doing time for the DUI. More states are making jail time mandatory for first offenders as they all should.

His license will be suspended, get a HUGE fine... when he does get his license back his insurance will be astronomical,, and so will yours be if he was on your policy.

Then there are the legal fees... because he WILL need a lawyer.
