Hi,
I have a GE model number DWSR473EV1WW. As the dryer runs it makes an intermittent noise. But as the dryer warms up the noise becomes louder and constant. It appears the screeching noise comes from the rear of the dryer. Any ideas?

Hi Kmayes and welcome, sounds like bearings going south, here's the kit you will need to rebuild it. Good luck

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. I'm assuming from your response and the link you supplied, I need to replace the rear drum bearing kit? Would that be correct?
That's what I would do. You can post back with any questions.
Good luck
You need a rear bearing. Here are the manuals: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8010163/GE%...%20Manuals.zip
Look on YouTube and you can see how to do it, but clean the dryer well and lubricate well with white lithium grease. You will have to take apart every little part to clean it well.
Thank you for the link. Could you please resend it - I could not open it.
Thanks
I checked the link and it's fine. All you do is click on it and download the files. You will get a box where you choose "Save" and not "Open." After you choose "Save" some browsers will ask you where you want to save it and then you tell it where you want it. Just double-click on the file to open it on most computers after it's finished downloading.
