My 42inch Hitachi TV doesn't even have a light that goes on when I put the power on and use the remote. All I hear is the speaker going "tic tic tic"

What could be the problem. Visually there is nothing that seems to be the problem on the boards.

Its broke. If you aren't an Electronics Technician with access to test equipment, purchase schematics for the unit and know what to do with them... you have two choices... take it to a repair shop or throw it out and buy a new one.

Sorry but there no tubes to swap and nothing in there you can dink around with unless you ARE an electronics tech.
