    Hippa chart removal
    I own a dental office. An associate dentist left and took patient info and charts and is calling patients to come see him at his new office. Hippa violation and if so what do I do?

    Well, for starters it's HIPAA, not HIPPA.

    I'm sure you took the required classes, but here's the information, updated: Health Information Privacy

    All the Government will do is reprimand him. Personally I'd contact an Attorney, have him/her write a letter and if you are losing business, I would sue.

    I'm thinking this is homework - or something. I cannot believe that a Dentist is on AMHD because another Dentist is "stealing" files and patients - and the problem is HIPAA?
