    1990 olsmoble cutless ceria starting problems
    Sometimes when you start it,it will just turn over and won't start
    Let it sit for a minut and it will start.the other day a drove it for like an hour got home
    Shut it off then tried to start it again would not start,I tried it 8 times would not
    Start,tried it again in like 2 hours it started right up.
    It has 81,000 miles on it,I changed the fuel pump and filter,ignation mod. It still does
    It.any ideas what's going on? Help please 3.3/ 6 cyl

    . Check for codes.

    . Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor, if the Ignition Control Module (ICM) you installed was new. A failing ICM was my first thought.

    . Replace the coil packs, if the problem persists.

    Icm was new,there are no coded and one of the coil packs was replaced

    You were right,it was the coils,thank you very much

    It did start good for 2 days,yesterday I went to the store,I came out started it it ran for like 3 seconds and stopped
    I did this for like 5 times then it started,what's going on??

    Check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

    OK I tried everything you said,the last was the ignition switch,it was working good for 5 days
    Until yesterday,I used it in the morning was good and went to use it later in the day,it started to do the same thing,it would start,run for a few seconds and die,I tried it like 6 times sane thing
    Waited for like 30 minuts and it started and ran good,any more ideas?? Thanks

    . Clean the main ECM ground.

    . Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

    Have the ECM tested, if the problem persists.

    I put a crankshaft position sensor in it worked for like 2 days.ecm would you know where the location is?
    This is the computer your talking about right?

    Yes, it's the computer. It has a large gang of wires going to it. GM likes to place them near the fuse box, in many cases.
