Thc metabolites in drug screen (urine)
So maybe, like my name, I'm just a worry wart, but here's what's up. I smoked some weed over 4 days. About 2 hits from a bong a day, it was probably only a gram total, if not just over. Not much. I haven't smoked in about two years. I'm taking a pre-employment test and it will be a little over 31 days since smoking. Like I said, nothing before, nothing since. I've drank several times, not sure if that affects the clearance rate... I would consider that infrequent use, I was on vacation and hey, whatever! I'm female, mid twenties, and small- not much body fat. I work outside a lot, and I have a very healthy diet. Is there anything I should be worried about? At all? Thanks- and please no negative comments! Oh, and I took 2 home tests on consecutive days with my first morning urine (upon waking) about 3 weeks after the smoking and they were BOTH negative.

If you read the terms of service and the site rules you agreed to follow you would know you aren't allowed to dictate what type of answers you get of from whom.

Its amazing how many people when faced with a test claim to have never smoked it before, it was their only time, ever... its rare anyone ever admits to being a heavy user.

Reality is... if you aren't honest about that... you fool yourself, because the more you smoked and the longer you smoked the higher the levels in your system are and the longer it stays in your system.

Wow, well thank you for being so quick to classify me as a dishonest person. Reality is, I really WAS on vacation. And that I really had not smoked in that long. I'm a PhD student and honestly don't have the time for it. I am giving my honest facts because I would like an honest response. I gave the specific time frame, and never claimed it was my first time ever. Why would I try to fool anyone when I was only looking for someone who perhaps held the scientific knowledge or references that I clearly lack? Thanks anyway.

I see a dozen posts every day, most of them from people on parole, many of them drunks and drug addicts that REFUSE to do what they were ordered to do that are obviously subject to testing and STILL doing it it looking for ways to cheat the system and cheat the tests.

Like I said... IF you were honest... your chances are good you won't get caught. (this time).. if you weren't your chances are really good you WILL get caught on the drug screening. The truth comes out in the test.

The clearance rate for occasional users is relatively short. Could be from 3-7 days (50 ng) and no more than 14 days (20 ng). Your home tests, using first void and sequential testing is affirming. You should have no concern about a pre-employment test. What was the cutoff of the OTC you used?

The following study contains a pretty good time-table for THC detection by user type (frequency)

    Musshoff & Madea (2006) see Table 1, p. 158 There Drug Monit # Volume 28, Number 2, April 2006

Thank you for your response. The OTC was 50 ng/ml. Both of them were. I looked for one with a lower cutoff but I was unable to find one.

Makes no actual difference. Most pre-employment use 50 ng per SAMHSA guidelines and even if it is 20 ng you are safe as you should have no metabolites in system.
