My daughter has several outstanding parking tickets in Montreal, but her car is registered to me, in Connecticut. I received notification of these tickets directly from the Municipal Court in Montreal. This notification was the first I heard of these violations. She is an adult and has to deal with it, as I have no knowledge of this.

1. What happens if I plead not guilty ?
2. Will they redirect these tickets to my daughter if I provide the proper information or is it now my problem to deal with ?
3. If I ignore them, will this become a Quebec issue? A Canada issue ? Would I be stopped at the border entering from the US ? Do they have an agreement with Connecticut (as Ontario has with NY) ?

What will happen? A Court date will be scheduled. If you fail to appear a fine will be issued. You don't pay a warrant will follow. You won't be able to get into Canada (because of the open warrant - I'm ex-US Homeland Security).

Will they redirect the tickets? No. The registered owner is legally responsible, not the driver.

What happens if you ignore them? See "what will happen" above. A warrant will be issued.

What "agreement" does Ontario have with NY? I worked the "Buffalo/NF border" (as well as a number of other places) and I'm unaware of any "agreement."

Actually this is YOUR problem, since it is your car. Tickets follow the plates, and they may even attempt to get your registeration suspended on your car, ( not likely but possible)

They may turn it over to a collection agency and effect your credit.

They may issue a warrant for your arrest.

You may be restricted from going into Canada.

You talk to daughter, and then if she did it, she can appear in court with you, tell the court she did it, and she can pay the tickets.
