    no hot water
    Plumbing Questions Answers
Can a bad hot water recirculating pump slow or stop cold water flow? We woke up to a trickle of water flushing toilet, and only when we unplugged pump did it come back. Also, is it normal to wait about 8 minutes to get hot water out of the faucet once we unplugged pump? Trying to figure out where the problem lies-with the pump, with the hot water heater or with something else? Thanks for any help

As you can see the recirculating system should only affect those fixtures that use hot water. There should be another branch supplying toilets. Hose bibs, sprinkler systems etc. Is there a check valve on the cold water supply? Let me know. Tom
