I just purchased toilet from Home Depot and thought it would be an easy replace and install like my basement toilet, but the piping for the water supply hose does not have an attachment? The old toilet, the pipe fit right into top right off toilet, what should I do? I provided a pic of what it looks like. Let me know any thoughts you guys got or advice which would be greatly appreciated :)

You have galvanized pipes. Here's what I would do. Purchase a 1/2" threaded chrome angle stop, a roll of Teflon Tape and a braided toilet supply as shown in the images.
Shut the water off to the house and, using two pipe wrenches, one to unthread the valve and the other to prevent the pipe from turning. Now wrap three wraps of Tape around the threads and install the angle stop. You are now set up to connect the toilet supply. Pay close attention to matching up the plastic threads to the tank. I meant threaded angle stop. Had this been copper I would have advised cutting it back and use a compression angle stop just like a regular hookup. However, Since he would have had the hassle of cutting a new thread I left the stubout long. Regards, Tom

OK, a threaded IPS stop, but why an angle stop. Pipe is coming straight up through the floor.
