Hi,

I am currently working on L1 visa for employer A and employer B apply for my H1 visa
And lets say my petition gets approved.

1)When does the status change happens(L1 to H1) or who initates the status i.e I have to do or automatically it gets changed.

If status gets changed

1.1)Do I need to go to employer B immediately since my status is changed(L1 to H1).

1.2)Can I join employer B at any time lets say Feb 2008 even though my status is changed from L1 to H1(in Sept 2007)

Hi,

You can join your employer B anytime after Oct 1st 2007. There is no particular date. Also, once you join, you status will change from L1 to H1. You need not initiate anything from your side.

Does this means that one can continue on L1 even if H1 with COS(I94 on petition) is approved and effective form Oct 07.Suppose L1 is valid till 09 then can I continue on L1 till then or its just some months period.
