    Credit Card Issue
    I have few credit card that have a balances and last year I lost my job and could not keep up my payment and now I am so far behind. I just need to know that can credit card companies put a lien against my real property like home. By the way I am married and reside in Texas.

    They can take you to court and get a lien on your property or even seize assests if the court agrees. You should lokk into a free credit counseling organization in TX.

    In most states, they cannot file a lien against your primary residence for usecured debt. Even if they can, a lien only means that they have an interest in the property and the lien has to be satisifed before the property can be transferred. In addition, Texas law does not allow garnishment of wages for private debt.
