Is it safe to fly with placenta previa?
    Hi,
I am 25 yrs old and 21 weeks pregnant. My 20th week scan showed I have placenta previa. Doctor said its low lying. No bleeding so far.
Would it be safe for me to travel by air in my 2nd trimester?
(flight duration is 1 hrs 30 minutes. Return scheduled for 5 days after departure)

    Thank you.

What did your Dr. say when you asked the question?

Your doctor is the best one to ask about this. He knows your medical history, your body, and all the other information we're not privvy to. Best to ask him if he thinks this is safe.

Exactly. In my experience, your Dr. will tell you depending on bleeding, what your restrictions are, etc. You may be told to wait and see when it gets closer. Be safe and ask your Dr.

I would avoid being far from your delivering hospital with a low lying previa. You need to stay as close to your doctor and hospital at all times until you do delivery.

At 21 weeks this should have resolved. Since it hasn't, you run the risk of placental abruption could be life threatening to you and your baby.
