I have a 1955 John Deere Tractor Model 50. It runs greats, but when you turn off the tractor and don't unhook the cables from the battery, the battery runs down. Any help would be great.

There may be one or more bad cells. Test the specific gravity (S.G.) of each cell. There's likely an internal problem with the battery.
