49 yrs. Missed period in aug after a full menses in July. Never late but stressed out and weight gain due to sciatic nerve condition. Took 2 HPT both negative waited until aug 24 th to take it. tubes been tied for 19 yrs. Can I be pregnant?

AT 49 years of age it's possible that you are entering perimenopause.

Why then do I feel so fat and crabby?
I have 4 children 19-28, this feeling is familiar but I also feel feverish and cold and clammy like I have flu symptoms

You may indeed have the flu.

Sometimes those of us going through the beginning of menopause have premenstrual type symptoms, but end up missing a period.

Considering your tubes have been tied for 19 years, you would have a significant amount of scar tissue built up to prevent pregnancy.
