HI I woke up this morning and had NO water in the house. I went to the well-pit and the line on the side of the pump( that goes to the pressure switch) had popped off and flooded the pit. I bucketed the water out, fixed the line, dried it all out. I replaced the pressure switch, clamps, the tube that had fallen off and replaced the gauge. The pump will run continually and will not build up to pressure and shut off. I don't have the normal 40/60 psi, mine is a 30/50. I now have VERY LOW pressure in the house and NONE in the shower. I have primed the pump, adjusted the air in my bladder tank. The tag on the bladder tanks says the preload should be within 2 lbs of the Low End of the pressure switch. It's a shallow well 1-1/4" (maybe 1-1/2") diameter. Any help will be appreciated!

20/40 is the norm.
Shut the pump off. If the gage falls and you lose prime you have a faulty check/foot valve. Let me know what you find. Tom

Shut the pump off and gauge maintained pressure. I read about bypassing the water softener. I did this and the well seems to be operating better. I believe that there is something wrong with my water softener. I will be looking into that next. I cleaned the screen on the softener and when I turned it back on, pressure to the shower was zero. Bypassed the softener and it seemed to be better. So as of now, the softener is bypassed and we are able to shower but have a lot of "gunk" yet from all of the disruption, I'm guessing... Any other suggestions ideas?

Bypass the softener and flush your water lines. Good luck, Tom
