    Cat Bite
My Cat bit me yesterday due to her running down the stiars (She is a indoor cat up to date on shots) I accidentally scared her and she bit me several times on my left hand, middle finger and finger to the left also my arm. (All the same arm/hand) I cleaned it as best as I could (Warm water, soap and applied Neosporin) Dismorning it was swollen (I am used to cat bites causeing minor swelling) This afternoon I noticed I had to take my wedding ring off and I can't make a fist or lift anything heavie than a water bottle without minor to severe pain. From the wrist to the tip of my fingers that where bitten, its all swollen, red (NOT BRUISED) and hurts to the touch along with some tingling in my finger tips. I started about a hour ago feeling sick and hot (Still trying to find a thermometer) and starting to get the shakes. The cuts oozed some puss when I squeezed them, BUT the bites on my arm are not red, bruised though and do not hurt at all compared to my hand.( I have 2 bites on my arm) I was thinking she got a tendon/knuckle since that's where she bit (Several on my fingers and 2 on my knuckle) and the red area hurts to the touch but the part of my hand that is NOT red does not hurt. I have taken IB proffen, Tried washing/soaking it, and I am up to date on my tetnus shots and such. My boyfriend is the type of guy that says it will go away but it really hurts even with the pain meds and a friend said it might need to be drained... So.. is it serouis, should I go to the hospital or wait it out? Please help.

    tickle
Cats have no beneficial antibodies, the same as dogs do, in their mouths. So yes, you had better get it seen to; the terminology for this type of wound is 'cat scratch/bite fever' although no fever involved unless you let it go too far. You could end up with a serious infection.
