I have two different gmail accounts.
Now to remain online I need to get logged into both the accounts.

So is there anyway to merge or interlink both the accounts so that by login into anyone account my status remain online to both the accounts and contacts.

Seems to be overly complex.
Have you considered a third party client, such as Thunderbird?

If you insist on being logged into BOTH accounts, then use separate browsers while doing so.
