Installing weird showerhead
I just purchased a Monsoon handheld showerhead at Home Depot, but when I got home to install it, the existing pipe in the shower was like none I've ever seen. There is no threading into which to screw the new showerhead - just a pipe coming out of the wall with a "bald ball" on the end. The old cheapo showerhead kind of fit over that bald ball and screwed onto a plastic piece that is around the pipe. Can't get the plastic piece off w/out ripping the pipe out of the wall (and the landlord just re-tiled the whole wall - defintely can't wreck that). Is there any kind of adapter or anything so I can get rid of cheapo showerhead and install my new hand held??
Thanks!

Hey Jen,
You still have part of the old shower head left to remove. This will not disturb the tiles in the least. The part that comes out of the wall screws into a 1/2" threaded female drop eared ell secured just behind the tile wall.
You will need to purchase a 1/2" chrome shower arm and some teflon tape.
Put a wrench on the pipe coming out of the wall and turn it out counterclockwise. Now taflon tape both ends of the chrome shower are and screw it back in the wall. Now you can finish the job by screwing in your hand held shower and rub-a-dub in style. Cheers, Tom
