USCIS and F-1 status extension letter
I started pursuing my master's degree this month and I have my new I-20. I went from OPT as an undergrad to continuous F-1 as a graduate student. I plan on going back home overseas and visiting embassy to get a new visa. It's necessary for me in order to come back to US. I've heard that there is a way of confirming your current status with USCIS to ease the visa issuance in my home country. They would provide me with a letter that I take to embassy. How can I do that? Does form I-539 has anything to do with it? Please advise.
