    1997 f150 not starting
I have a 1997 ford f150 4wd auto trans 4.6 liter v8. It's not starting! Drove it home didn't shift past second. Got it home and it wouldn't start. Bypassed the fuel pump working properly. New ECM still nothing do the ECMs have to be grounded? Have sprayed it with carb cleaner and it ran. I don't think the injectors are spraying. Checked all PCM fuses and associated relays also fuel pump fuses and relays. Scanned with obd 2 scanner no results directly linked to the fuel problem. It did come back with o2 sensor but doubt that would cause it not to start unless it's shorted and back feeding to the PCM. All fuses relays are good fuel pump runs when bypassed inertia switch is pushed down. No spray through the injector? Any one else had this problem with a resolve? Thanks for the help

Yes, ECMs need to be properly grounded. Ensure this is done. If problem persists, replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM). Focus on the VSS for the transmission not shifting properly.
