You could have various vitamin deficiencies. Some doctors inject B vitamins directly into the scalp. Try a multi-vitamin.
What are you doing for your asthma? You need to have it treated because you can die from a serious attack, and inhalers require a prescription.

You could have something else too, some rare medical condition that the doctor is missing.
I have very sparse hair for a woman. I inherited it from my mother. There are many woman with extremely sparse hair.
