He's been in there for about 4 months now and we talk almost every day & ivisit him twice a week, we don't write as much as we used to because we talk so much. Some times we run out of things to say to each other when were on the phone though, I love him and idont want to feel like this but sometimes I feel like we are talking too much ? Am I wrong to feel like this ? I mean he is in jail, he knows I love him, how would I even bring this up to him ?

How old are you both and what's he in jail for and for how long? How far away is he and how much money does all that talking cost, and the travel expenses?

How do you afford it?

Was he your boyfriend before he went to jail?

Im 21 and so is he, he's going to be in there for a little under two years for a robbery case. I was living in the city he was locked up in, but recently moved back with my mom about 8 hrs away. I pay 30 dollars for 5 phone calls, so its pretty expensive seeing we talk everyday. Until I find a job, my moms been putting money on my phone

We were together a couple months before he got locked up and broke up,a couple weeks before he went in we barley started talking again, when he got in there we were talking more and decided to get back together.

You need to tell him you can't afford to talk to him as much as you do. In fact you don't have a job, you can't afford to talk to him at all. If he wants to talk to you, he needs to come up with a way.

I strongly advise you to rethink this relationship, and stop those calls from coming. How you can even see any future with a guy with two years of time to serve, seems like a perfect waste of time and I see you being used as his outside connection. For sure he has nothing to lose.

Be pen pals with no commitment, and let your mom off the hook! Has he no family? Simply put you can't afford a boyfriend in jail,and your mom can't either can she? When you get a job, he will want money on his books, and that's more expensive than phone calls. Not tomention traveling for visits.

Don't let whatever he says make you even think this will work out WHEN he gets out because he will need YOU a lot more than you need him. And above all protect yourself from this stranger you seem to have given your heart too! You never put your own life, hopes, and dreams on hold for a criminal... NEVER!
