A couple days ago my toe started swelling and I was getting sharp throbbing pains in it. I eventually developed a blister on the top of my toe. I visited Patient First, where they took an x-ray that came up clear and diagnosed me with Hematoma. I was unsure that that was a correct diagnosis because I never injured my toe and my toenail was fine. The doctor recommended I let it pop on it's own. It finally did today and the swelling started to go down, but a lot of puss seems to be coming out of it. Do you think Hematoma was the correct diagnosis? Should I be concerned that the area where the blister was may get infected? What could I take or put on my toe to heal it as fast as possible and avoid infection?
