I have a project that's due tomorrow and I need to know what will happen when you take a one Gallon milk jug and put hot water in it , pour it out and pour cold water in it what will happen , and why?

I did the project but Idk why the milk jug shrunk?

What grade are you in and do you know how to reseach on the internet? Let me google that for you
