Truck when in drive revs but no acceleration
    Ok I have a 1997 Ford f-150

Go to drive it, and first I get a constant beeping when the drivers door is opened.. starts fine, reverses fine.. problem starts when I get into drive.. I get slight acceleration then it stops and all I get is a rev, switch to second gear and I get acceleration, no reving.. I checked transmission fluids all is good as with other fluids.. Also when drove for that little bit stopped and the passenger airbag started a constant beeping had to take the key and turn it from off to on to stop it.. and the speedometer also stopped working.. Oh and the truck is an automatic.. please help!

    . Check for codes.

. Replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). Afterwards, clear all codes. When the VSS goes out, I've seen Ford pick-ups barely be able to hobble back to Texas from Arkansas. In these situations, it's not uncommon for all sorts of codes to be thrown, including ABS and SRS.

Focus on the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS), if the problem persists. You also need to drop and clean the transmission pan and magnet, change the filter, and refill with Mercon V every 50,000 miles. If your current fluid is not light pink, it may indicate neglect and major problems.

Should the problem still persist, the clutch packs are likely shot and the transmission needs rebuilding.
