The starter motor on my Briggs & Stratton 20hp V twin riding mower engine needs mending. How do I remove it. The metal flywheel cover seems to need removing first, but bolts securing this also secure petrol pump. Do I have to remove all of these components?

Actually a short 1/2" socket, extension and ratchet will do it though it is a tight fit. Only two bolts hold it on. A T-40 Torq bit set up with a socket, extension, and ratchet will work , also.
