I have a newborn and I live with my mom. I am 20 years old, full time job with benefits and I provide health insurance for my son.
My mom believes I am a horrible mom and she wants to get custody of my son. She said if I move out she will go for custody and I won't see him again.
Should I be worried about my son if I move out?
What are her reasons for saying that you are a "horrible mom?"
Unless she can prove that you're an unfit mother there's no way that she'll get custody of your son. She wouldn't just be able to say "she does this, she does that", she'd have to prove her claims.
What makes her think you're unfit? Also, where is the father of this child?
She says that I don't bathe him enough, my room isn't suitable for a baby, I am not mature enough to handle a baby.Quote:

Hate to say it J, but when we brought our babies home our house quickly became a disaster. I never realized how much mess could be accumulated with one tiny person that couldn't even walk around. But you, our house went from pristine to a disaster zone within weeks, and I was a stay at home mom!Quote:

Wow, I guess I'm just OCD then because when I brought my babies home, all 4 of them, I worked my arse off to make sure the house was clean and tidy at all times.Quote:

I'm OCD too, but when Jared came home I was too exhausted to be the anal retentive house keeper I was before he was born. Also, I figured that the laundry could wait, that things didn't have to be spotless all the time. But if she is talking like this, you NEED to move out since a mother should not be threatening to take the grandchild unless the mother really is bad
I'm curious: what is this doing in the criminal law forum?
Does someone imagine that a mom not picking up the clothes in her room, or not giving her baby a bath twice a day, might be regarded as criminal activity?
