    Police and private property
My daughter in law was in an accident on what the police say was Mall property. The women that hit my Doughter in law's truck was speeding, driving on a suspened drivers licence and with a open container in her car. After the accident she left her car with a person in another car prior to the police arriving. MY question is the police is saying they can not charge her with anything because the accident was on private property. Is this the law in Georgia.

I can't say for certain whether it's the law in GA but I know it's the law in many areas, so it probably is in GA as well. Since the police were not on the site to witness her behind the wheel or with the open container, they can't charge her with those crimes. They might be able to charge her with leaving the scene.

Why not just report it to your insurer and let them take care of it?
