Sounds like a politically correct term for a break up.

It's when one of the couple says, "I want to take a break for x number of weeks/months to find out if we are right for each other." The upshot is what odinn7 said.

I get that makes sense. But what if was discussed Sunday seen each other mon tues wed not thurs or fri but seeing sat going away to Sunday? Confusing right

This happened Sunday morning but we went to dinner on Sunday night seen one another on mon tues wed didn't see him Thursday night and not Friday but we are seeing each other sat night overnight away until Sunday. What do you make of this? Confused

It sounds to me like they want to be with you, but not committed to you.

It sounds like they may have other plans. I don't know how much of this I would put up with.
